Description:
Fareham Fire Control Centre was one of the Governments proposals to build 9 of these new centres to replace the 46 existing control centres in the south east region.
James and Son Ltd’s scope of works included the construction of Bomb Blast partitions, Drywall partitions and Suspended Ceilings throughout the building. The most instantly recognised feature of this building internally, is the suspended ceiling in the main control room, installed by James and Son Ltd.
This consists of a large plain plasterboard ceiling from which there are three large dropped down rafts.
These are constructed using Gyptone Quattro 47 acoustic boards and a perimeter light trough detail formed in plasterboard.
The ceiling required James and Son Ltd to work closely with the architects on the design in order to achieve the high acoustic performance required and the stunning visual appearance.
Due to James and Son Ltd providing a high quality finish, health and safety conscious workforce and an excellent management team on this project, we were awarded the next Fire Control Centre at Merton.
